Mondays are for Grace, and Gratefulness

"Courage is almost a contradiction in terms.
It means a strong desire to live taking the form of readiness to die."

-- G. K. Chesterton

Today we honor those who have served the cause of freedom in many wars and many places. There is a price to our freedom which so many of us can hardly imagine. Thank you to all those who have served, and are serving, our country!

(This picture shows my grandfather during WWII at Bassingbourn Air Base in England. My grandfather was later shot down over Belgium and eventually turned over to the Germans. He spent the rest of the war as a POW.)

Yes, I'm so grateful. It's hard to imagine what it must have been like for good soldiers like your grandfather.

What a beautiful and heartfelt post. I hope your grandfather survived and had a happy life once he returned home.
God bless your grandfather and all those who served and continue to fight for our country
