The Diary of General William Thomas Clark

Sunday afternoon after the wedding several of us gathered here for a relaxed afternoon of visiting. We pulled out old family photos and the diary of General William Thomas Clark, who is my mom's Great-Grandfather.

Mom and another aunt have read the diaries thoroughly but the rest of us have not had the time to sit down and read through them.

Thus it was decided to start transcribing them and to do so via a blog. The diaries cover about 5 years (I think) beginning in 1847 when William was 16 years of age. Unfortunately, we don't have any diary from the years he served in the Civil War. However, if you are interested in following, you can find the blog here.

What a lovely piece of history to have. I have read several entries and will follow his progress.
