Beauty in the Day

Oh I know that most people were disappointed to see the snow coming down fast and furious this morning, but I couldn't help being in awe of the beauty of the day.

The standing water in front of the park was beautiful in its own way too -- the reflections, the unseasonal snow stuck to the trees, the magic of it all.

My favorite view in Indianapolis -- because it reminds me of my birthplace. This beauty is soul-filling.

Winter is making her last efforts at grasping our hearts,

but her efforts are fleeting and cannot last forever. So it is with death (which is much on our hearts this week). Its grip grabs our hearts now but it too will not be able to hold on forever.

If time-bound earth is beautiful, think of the beauty of heaven!!!!!!!

There's a very different quality to a spring snowfall, isn't there? We have many times seen snow on the ground at the beginning of April in Aberdeen - I think that's a bit less likely in Glasgow. But it always seems quite tenuous, especially as the sun is much stronger by that time of year.
I'm so sorry for your loss (I read your previous posts but didn't have a chance to comment). My mother used to say, Death is part of life. She herself was told that due to her rheumatic fever she wouldn't live to be 21. She turned 84 a few days ago! She was never afraid to talk about death with us, and I'm glad I was raised that way.
As you say - how beautiful will the next world be?!
Take good care, Heather.
