Taking Time for Beauty

Recently, after spending a good chunk of time cleaning the house, including scrubbing out my shower and giving the rest of the bathroom a good going-over, I thought how much I would love to go cut some flowers and put them by my bed and in the bathroom. Next thought was: I don't have time to do that. But then I thought: I need to have time to do that. And I went and did it.

Do you know, putting those flowers by my bed cheered me up all weekend. Everytime I thought of the clean bathroom and saw the pretty flowers I felt happy. It's worth taking time out for beauty!

I'm glad you did. I remember a dear older lady that I loved to visit. She always had little bud vases in each room with just a flower or two. Whenever I asked her about a flower she'd send me home with it. Her attention to beauty shined through in all that she did.

I love daisies.

My bridesmaids carried them and wore yellow dresses with daisy print when I got married.

I have a little vase with a few sweet peas in it beside my bed. Its the first time I have grown in the garden and of course you have to keep picking them to encourage more blooms, hopefully lots of flowers for the house over the next few weeks.

It ia worth those moments of clipping a few stems. When we went camping last week I clipped some roses and took them along in our trailer and I agree. .they just add something wonderful to the room. .or trailer. .or. .
