Michael carefully remade an end table into a stove for Laura's gift.
Isn't it adorable!? We found the idea on Pinterest of course! You can find the link here.
We hid cookies inside the stove as a surprise. Laura had mentioned "cookies" when we asked her about her birthday.
She was so excited about her cookies that she ate 5 for breakfast.
You can see how happy she is!
I made her a little apron to go with the stove and various family members and friends added appropriate gifts. Laura knew exactly what to do with her gifts.
I managed to get a picture with my birthday girl. She is too precious!
The kids finished building their dinosaur and added a birthday sign for Laura.
The Bible study kids came over to celebrate on Saturday.
Laura now knows what presents are for and she's happy to receive them.
Rachel is happy to be the big sister.
Good friends:
Family came to celebrate on Friday night. We had lots of yummy cupcakes.
Laura enjoyed trying to blow out her candles.
This shot gives you a peek into the "cousin relationship". I love watching them -- they remind me of me and my cousin when we were little. Best of friends, worst of enemies.
Eating cake is always fun, especially when you can lick the icing off first.
Another gathering around the table:
Auntie C made a beautiful doll for Laura.
Isn't she gorgeous!!!! (The pattern is from Ysolda's Whimsical Little Knits Book 1)
More gifts to go with the stove!
John is going to have fun too........
Spending time with Grandma is always a treat!

Oh wow! Just wow! Michael should go into business with those! Seriously! And I love all the little extras you've made like the apron and the cupcakes and the little cooking toys - so so adorable! And I like Laura's green socks. :o) You guys sure know how to celebrate.
Oh and one more thing, I hope Auntie C is going to make that dolly pattern available. ;o)
WOW! What a great day. Turning 2 is such a great time. Love the kitchen piece, and all the things that were made to go with it!! Looks like she will have many wonderful hours of play. The doll is fantastic!! The cupcakes look yummy too. All of them :)
The kitchen is just adorable! I have a feeling that some day Laura will be playing with it with her own children and grandchildren.
The stove and knitted gifts are just DELIGHTFUL!!! :)
What a great gift for Laura and a precious celebration of her special day! I love the picture of the two of you together! Precious is right!
Oh my goodness what a sweet little stove! So much more precious that Daddy made it for her! Happy birthday, Laura!
Oops, the above comment was me. Keely was signed in. :)
