Words and Wool

I found the cutest new pattern to try! Check out this adorable little bunny rabbit! Isn't she perfect for this time of year and for a new baby!!!! I already have plans for these to multiply around here! The best thing is, this bunny is made from a knitted square!! (plus ears and tail)

Another sweet pea hat is off to an old friend expecting her very first child.

I had a little extra creating time this past weekend and sewed up a few lavender sachets to take to a new shop that is carrying my work. I'm so excited about Lilly's Soap Kitchen in downtown Indianapolis. They have a beautiful space and lots of talented creators are filling the shop with lovely things. If you are in the area, you should stop in!

I also managed to get the granny square pillow put together! It is now sitting downstairs on my couch, adding a bit of spring to the room.

And here is the dozen flowers also completed to take to Lilly's Soap Kitchen. Yay for spring!!!!

The kids are all working on their various yarnwork projects too. James learned single and double crochet this week and is avidly working on a simple dishcloth. I love to catch him intent on his work. Rachel is trying to find a shawl for 4H. I think she has finally decided on one that suits the wool we have and her abilities.

As for reading......

The Friendships of Women: The Beauty and Power of God's Plan for Us (Dee Brestin's Series) by Dee Brestin is a book I just finished yesterday. I found it helpful and thought-provoking in thinking through friendships with women. The book begins with several chapters showing how important such relationships are and then moves into helpful information on forming and maintaining these relationships. I have just ordered another of Brestin's books and hope that it proves just as good!

Well Fed: Paleo Recipes for People Who Love to Eat by Melissa Joulwan is a book my friend recommended. It looks fantastic! I can't wait to try many of the recipes. It looks like a good cookbook for anyone, not just someone who might be on a Paleo diet.

Mary, Queen of Scots, and the Murder of Lord Darnley by Alison Weir is continuing to intrigue and enlighten me. I just can't get over the fact that Mary ruined her life in Scotland so quickly. For so famous of a queen her reign was so short.

Love the bunny! I have been trying to decide which of the cute bunnies out there right now to make for Willow for Easter. I'd like to sew one but knitting has been so much easier for me to find time for right now. This one is on the list.
