Emily's Birthday

Emily's birthday was a fun day. Here is the surprise we came up with for her:

We put a REAL tree up in her room with COLORED lights on it. Despite David's repeated, "Christmas tree in your room," when Em walked in the door after work, she was very surprised when she went upstairs.

Earlier in the day I took the children to Marsh to enjoy lunch with Grandma (and pick up my parent's tree stand, which they weren't using). Grandma had reindeer waiting for the children. Here they all are in front of Grandma's workstation in the flower department:

Em requested pizza for her birthday dinner. I decided to go a bit gourmet and created this pizza with spinach, feta, mozzarella, kalamati olives and sauteed onions:

Rachel made a spice cake with butterscotch icing for dessert:
