Cherry Picking

We went cherry picking today -- spur of the moment. It was a delightful activity for children, filled with tree climbing, tractor sitting, and ladder standing. And after all that fun, we have some fruit to enjoy too!

The hot weather has arrived. It's now mostly in the upper 80's and low 90's. The humidity is present as well. But, we braved the weather for the cherries.

Then there were kittens to play with.

What child can resist a kitten?

The best part was being invited inside a cool house for lemonade and a slice of cherry pie. Fresh cherry pie is SO good.

So now I'm trying to decide: pie or jam? The jam might be winning, but the pie is pretty persuading.

So .. now my mouth is watering.
I have a post ready for Tuesday to display Andrew's flowers . .I wanted to wait until he was home from church camp.
I'm glad the package arrived. . .

Cherry jam is my absolute favorite but then so is cherry pie! Where in the world did you find a place to pick - a friend or a u-pick place? Sounds like a great day!

I'd vote for jam, too, just because it would spread the cherries out longer! We just recently had some fantastic cherry butter - I'd love to have a winter's supply of it!!

And yes, I think you need to tell Alaina where you went so she can get some, too! :)
