This past weekend we had the chance to travel north to Grand Rapids for Michael to preach and for us all to get to know the members of the RP congregation there. We had a wonderful time. We met many new friends and enjoyed the beautiful, country scenery.
We travelled down this lane until we reached the farm we were to stay at:
We stayed with a family who have about 90 acres and do a bit of farming in their spare time:
Animals included a goat, 3 dogs, a few cats and 3 kittens, and a horse:
The farmhouse, built probably sometime around 1840, has been extensively remodelled and repaired, although our friends say there is still a project wherever they look.
The field at the back, full of Queen Anne's lace, was amazing:
I think barns are just so pretty:
And there was a wrap-around porch to sit down on for Sunday afternoon:
We passed many farmstands and came home with some Green Gage plums:
And a bushel of apples:
And now we'll just have to convince some of the people in Grand Rapids to come down here for a visit!

What a beautiful place! Looks like a very relaxing place to be.
We lived in Holland for nine years. It is such a beautiful part of the country.
Of course, my first thought is wondering how they get in and out of that long lane with all the snow! :)
