We had a good night’s sleep, and Laura seems to have done well through the night. In fact, yesterday was such a good day, we and the medical team were all expecting to see some more strides forward today. But we had a setback this morning.
At 8:30, little Laura stopped breathing and went stiff. She appears to have had some kind of seizure. The doctors jumped in and got things stabilized quickly, and re-inserted a breathing tube. In other words, Laura is back on a ventilator again. And while she is not fully sedated, she is back on a bunch of meds to help her settle while the air clears. The EEG team was just in to get some brainwave data, and they are scheduling a CT scan this morning. We’re still not sure what caused the seizure, or what impact it may or may not have had. So, we’ve got some new questions to get answered.
We are so thankful for the genuine care of the doctors and nurses here in Riley ICU. They have been very sensitive, very quick to explain things to us, and very competent. But we’d invite your prayers for them as they endeavor to find out what triggered this morning’s event.
We will keep you posted. Thanks.

Oh Laura...I'm praying for you, and wish I was there to help in any way possible. Also praying for your big brothers who must find all this medical ups and down to be quite worrisome as well.
Thinking of you all Heather...As a Mum myself I cant imagine how worried you must feel. Sending you a Big Hug all the way from London X
Praying for and with you...
You, Laura, Michael and all are so continually in our thoughts and prayers -- others here and others with whom I correspond far away are praying for her as well. Thank you both for keeping us updated. We love you!
Thanks to Dee and the girls for their help, relieving you of any burden of concern about the welfare of the children at home.
Love,
Mom & Dad LeF
I'm so sorry to hear of your setback. You are in my thoughts and I hope that she keeps improving with no more complications. All the best.
We have been praying for you all in family worship and in METS. As we know life can be a roller coaster at times but we know we can always trust in the love and comfort of our Saviour. Lots of hugs to you all.
Love Angie R and family. X X X
