Mourning the Loss of a Friend

Our dear friend Margie passed away this week. She is someone who had a large influence on my young adult life, and I will treasure the memories I have of her.

My best memories are from the last year that I worked for her husband as a secretary. Every afternoon Margie would make us tea and we would stop our work and sit and chat for awhile. Margie would tell me stories of her childhood or of their years spent in Scotland.

This picture is from Margie's birthday back in June. I'm glad my children got to know her and will have their own memories. Although we will miss Margie, we are happy that she is now in heaven enjoying full health in God's presence.

There is something about an older "saint" going to be with the Lord. A mixture of sadness for us and gladness for them.

I just knew what the news was when I saw your email in my inbox yesterday Heather, and I just cried and cried. She was so kind to me during some difficult days in the USA, and I have a stack of letters she wrote me, and so many of them talk about you (when you were working with Dr. B), and I didn't 'know' you. I once sent her a crosstitch with Romans 8:28 as it was a special verse for her and me at that time. I'm so sad I didn't get to see her again-they tried to make it out here for our wedding, but it didn't work out. Oh well, - we have eternity for long reunions. :o)

What a treasure to know someone who has left things of value for us to remember. I imagine she will be one day waiting with open arms.
